About Empty Leg List

Empty Leg List collects empty leg flights that charter operators publish on their own websites and puts them in one place, so you can see what is actually flying without opening twenty tabs.

What an empty leg is

When a charter aircraft flies somewhere to collect a client, or flies home after dropping one off, that flight happens with nobody in the cabin. The operator has already paid for it. Selling those seats at a discount is better than flying empty, so operators publish them. The catch is that the operator sets the route, the date and the aircraft. You are fitting into a flight that already exists.

What we do

• We check operator websites several times a day and record the flights they publish.
• We show each flight the way it was listed: route, date, aircraft, seats and the operator's own price.
• We convert prices into a handful of common currencies as a rounded approximation, and the original listed figure stays one tap away behind the information icon.
• We group flights by route and by aircraft type so you can find the ones that fit.
• We pass your enquiry to operators covering that route.

What we are not

We are not an air carrier and we do not operate aircraft. We are not a licensed charter broker and we are not a party to any booking. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell a flight. Whatever you agree is agreed between you and the operator, under their terms, and they are the ones who carry the operating licence and the insurance.

We take no commission on flights arranged through enquiries made here.

Where the data comes from

Every listing is copied from a flight the operator published publicly. We record when we last saw it, and each route and aircraft page shows that timestamp. Availability still changes without notice: an empty leg can be sold, cancelled or rescheduled between our last check and your enquiry, because the underlying charter it depends on can change. Treat every listing as a strong indication, not a guarantee.

Prices are shown as the operator listed them. Where a listing carries no price we say so rather than inventing one.

Who runs it

Empty Leg List is operated by Publishing Office SRL, the team behind The Flying Engineer. We have been publishing about business aviation for years, which is how we ended up building this: the information existed, it was just scattered.

Operators
