Last minute empty leg flights

Every empty leg on the board that departs inside the next seven days, read from the charter operators' own websites several times a day. Prices are shown only where the operator published one, in the operator's currency, for the whole aircraft.

The list below is live. The written figures were read on 3 September 2026.

Sorted by departure date. "Deals" keeps only the legs with a published price, in the operator's own currency, with the price divided by the listed seats where the operator gave a seat count. Price on enquiry means the operator did not publish a figure and will quote when you ask.

Why last minute is where empty legs live

An empty leg exists because another client's charter created it, and that charter is usually booked days, not months, ahead. So the empty sector is published late. Across 3,928 legs we hold timestamps for, the median appeared 8.7 days before departure, and 1,780 of them, close to half, appeared inside the final week.

They also go early. We have watched 622 legs disappear from operator sites before their departure date, half of them within 4.5 days of appearing and 54 inside 24 hours. A leg that is on this page tonight can be sold, cancelled or rescheduled by morning, which is why the enquiry, not the listing, is what confirms it.

One thing to be careful about. A last minute empty leg is still one way. There is no return and no such thing as a return seat: the aircraft is repositioning and where it goes next is the operator's business. Only 208 of the 1,097 upcoming legs on our board had anything at all going the other way inside a week. Plan the way back as a scheduled flight, or as a second empty leg you find later. One way private jet flights goes through it.

What cheap means on this page

We do not estimate, discount or convert. A price appears here only when the operator wrote it on their own page, and it is the operator's figure for the whole aircraft. The per seat number in the deals view is that figure divided by the seats the operator listed, where a seat count was given, and it only holds if a group fills the cabin. On 3 September 2026 the cheapest seat on the whole board was 433 euros, Toulon to Nancy on a nine seat Citation, 3,900 euros for the aircraft.

Most last minute legs carry no price at all: 69 of the 341 departing inside a week did. The rest say price on enquiry, and the figure comes with the operator's reply. How much an empty leg private jet costs has the full table by aircraft type.

How to catch one

If your route is fixed and your date can move, set a route alert. It watches the route and tells you when a leg appears on it, which, given the numbers above, is more likely to be next week than today. If your date is fixed, search the live list by departure, destination and date, and have the passenger count and a nearby alternative airport ready before you enquire. How to find empty leg flights is the longer version.

Questions people ask

Are there last minute empty leg flights?

Yes, and they are the normal case rather than the exception. Across 3,928 legs we hold timestamps for, the median was published 8.7 days before departure and 1,780 of them appeared inside the final week. When we read the board on 3 September 2026, 341 of the 1,097 upcoming legs were departing inside seven days.

How cheap are last minute empty legs?

We only show the price the operator published, and most last minute legs do not carry one: 69 of the 341 departing inside a week did on 3 September 2026. Where a price exists it is for the whole aircraft, one way, and the table above sorts those by the price divided by the seats listed.

Do empty legs get cheaper closer to departure?

We do not have the evidence to say so. We record the price the operator publishes when we read the page, and we have not measured how often that figure changes as the date approaches. What we have measured is that legs disappear: 622 of them vanished before departure, half within 4.5 days of appearing.

Can I book a last minute empty leg today?

You send the enquiry from the leg, and the operator that flies it confirms whether it is still available and quotes you for the whole aircraft. Same day is a question for the operator, not for us; we list, we do not book.

Is a last minute empty leg a return trip?

No. Every empty leg is one way. Only 208 of the 1,097 upcoming legs on our board had any flight going the other way inside a week, and those are separate flights.
