Why this route produces empty legs

Calgary and Vancouver are the two ends of the western Canadian corporate run, an hour and a bit apart with the Rockies in between. Of the 34 legs we recorded touching Calgary, 14 involved Vancouver, more than Regina and Kelowna together. It looks the same from the other side: 14 of the 27 legs touching Vancouver were Calgary.

One operator, Chartright Air Group, listed every leg we have on this corridor. That is managed corporate metal moving between two bases rather than a market of competing charters.

Both directions, up to 20 flights, with the price exactly as the operator published it.

When they show up

In bursts. Five of the seven legs departed between 4 and 11 August, two of them on the same day, then nothing for nearly three weeks until a pair appeared at the end of the month. The quiet stretch is the point: this corridor produces several at once and then stops.

The airports on this route

Springbank and Boundary Bay are the shorter drives for the mountains and for Delta and Surrey respectively, but neither appeared on a single listing we recorded. Asking for one of them means asking the operator to change the plan, not picking an option off the board.

Every leg we have on record for this route

Between 31 July and 28 August 2026 we recorded 7 empty legs from Calgary to Vancouver. 2 of them carried a published price, from CAD 11,800 to CAD 12,000 for the whole aircraft. Each one was one hour and twelve minutes in the air, on a Challenger 300, a Challenger 604 or a Falcon 2000LX.

This is a record, not availability. These are the legs we saw on this corridor in that window, kept so the route has a history you can judge it by. None of them is bookable from this table. What is actually open right now is the live list above, and if it is empty the route alert is the way to catch the next one.

Before you book

The price on a card is the operator's figure for the whole aircraft. What that comes to per seat, across every type we see, is in how much an empty leg private jet costs.

Two of the seven legs carry a published price: a Challenger 604 with twelve seats at CAD 12,000 and a Falcon 2000LX with ten at CAD 11,800. The other five say price on request, so for most of this corridor the figure has to come from the operator.

Both priced legs are the two most recent. Everything from the first half of August was listed without a figure, which is the pattern on this corridor rather than the exception, so do not read those two prices as a going rate. The listed block time does run longer westbound, one hour twelve against one hour six on Vancouver to Calgary.

Ask the operator three things: whether the departure time can still move, what happens if the paid flight that created this empty leg falls through, and which Calgary field you are leaving from.
