One way empty legs between Calgary and Edmonton, exactly as the operators list them. Prices are the operator's own, not a marked up quote.
Straight line distance between the two cities. Actual routing and flight time depend on the aircraft and the airports.
This is the shortest corridor we publish anywhere in Canada. The two cities are about 135 nautical miles apart and the operators who fly it publish block times of 30 to 48 minutes, which is less time in the air than the taxi out at a busy airport.
It is the fourth most frequent destination out of Calgary in our record, behind Vancouver at 15 movements, Kelowna at 10 and Regina at 10. Calgary itself is one of the larger nodes we hold, 73 recorded departures to 29 destinations and 91 arrivals from 38 origins.
Edmonton is the opposite: it is one of the narrowest nodes in the whole record. We have 11 recorded departures from Edmonton and they go to exactly three places, Calgary seven times, Fort McMurray three and Seattle once. Aircraft based in Calgary fly up to Edmonton for a job and come back, and both halves of that pattern show up as empty legs.
Three of the five movements below are Sunwest Aviation, which is the reason this corridor has published prices at all. Sunwest puts a price on every one of the 75 listings we hold for it, and a block time on every one, across 13 airframes. Air Partners and Execaire Aviation, the other two operators here, publish no price on any of their 60 and 76 rows.
Five movements between 9 September and 1 December 2026. Four of them fell inside a three week stretch in September and the fifth is a long way out, which is a trickle rather than a schedule.
Notice is short at the near end and very long at the far end. The 27 September Beech 1900D entered our record on the morning it departed. The 1 December Learjet 45 has been listed since 8 September, 84 days ahead. Both patterns are normal on this corridor and neither tells you much about the next one, so the alert is worth more than checking the page.
Approximate corridor between Calgary and Edmonton. Operators fly the sector direct; the airports each listing uses are shown on the flight itself.
Both ends of this route are unambiguous in our record, which is rarer than it sounds on this site: every one of the five listings gives CYYC to CYEG. Edmonton International sits well south of the city, so on a flight this short the drive at either end is the longer part of the journey. Ask the operator about the ground arrangements before you ask about the flight.

Every leg we have recorded between Calgary and Edmonton, in either direction, since 30 July 2026, whether it is still on the board or not. A leg leaves the board when the operator stops publishing it, and we cannot tell from outside whether it was sold or withdrawn, so these are counts of what was listed, not of what flew.
One bar per calendar month, from the first month in our record to the furthest date an operator has published so far. Grey bars are months already past, gold is this month and the months ahead. A blank month is a month we have no record for, and before August 2026 that means we were not yet recording. The months ahead hold only what operators have published up to now, and most empty legs appear days or weeks before departure, so those bars will keep growing. The shape says how far ahead operators publish, not how busy a month will be.

Each row is a pair of airports as the operator named them, in the direction flown. Both directions of the corridor are counted. An operator that names only the city leaves us the city, which is why some rows are city names.
The price on a card is the operator's figure for the whole aircraft. What that comes to per seat, across every type we see, is in how much an empty leg private jet costs.
Three of the five carry a published price. Two are the identical CAD 2,900, on two different Learjet 45s: C-GVVZ on 15 September and C-GPDB on 1 December. The third is CAD 4,200 for the Beechcraft King Air Beech 1900D on 27 September.
Read the CAD 2,900 as an operator rate rather than a route rate. It is the same figure on two separate airframes eleven weeks apart, and Sunwest publishes a price on all 75 of its listings in our record, so its numbers are a rate card rather than a negotiation.
The CAD 4,200 buys a different thing. The Beech 1900D is listed at 18 seats against the Learjet 45's eight, so it is 45 per cent more money for well over twice the cabin, and it is listed at 48 minutes in the air against the Learjet's 30. On a sector this short the cabin is the decision, not the speed.
The two legs with no price are the Air Partners Citation Excel and the Execaire King Air B200. Neither operator publishes a figure anywhere in our record, so on those two the price comes from the operator when you ask and we show nothing rather than guess. Execaire also publishes no tail number and no block time on any of its 76 rows, so its leg is the one here with no time behind it.
Calgary to Edmonton empty legs are posted days ahead, not months. Leave your email and we watch both directions for you, Calgary to Edmonton and Edmonton to Calgary, and send you nothing else.
