Why this route produces empty legs

Nassau to Fort Lauderdale is about 160 nautical miles, and the three legs that publish a block time all read forty two minutes. It is a short international sector, from the Bahamas to the Florida coast in well under an hour.

Fort Lauderdale's inbound traffic is a Bahamas and Caribbean pattern, and Nassau sits at the top of it. Turks and Caicos, Nassau and Orlando each send six recorded legs into Fort Lauderdale, with George Town in the Bahamas at five. There is no large domestic feeder behind them: Teterboro and Toronto send four each.

Seen from Nassau it is the second biggest thing the island does. Nassau produces seven recorded legs to Hamilton in Bermuda and six to Fort Lauderdale, and nothing else at four or more. On our board the Bahamas feeds two places, and Fort Lauderdale is one of them.

The operator decides which Fort Lauderdale you land at, and each of them has gone one way every time. Gold Aviation flew three of these legs and all three went to Hollywood International. Hop-A-Jet flew two and both went to Executive. The two fields are about nine miles apart and no operator here has used both.

When they show up

Six movements on five dates between 4 August and 6 October 2026, which is about one a week over nine weeks. Two left on 18 September, from two different operators, to two different Fort Lauderdale fields.

Nothing was on the board when this page was built, and one weakness is worth stating. The two Hop-A-Jet legs are the same airframe, tail number N352XR, six days apart, so the six legs come from five aircraft rather than six. Six legs across nine weeks is a trickle rather than a schedule, so the route alert is worth more than checking the page.

The route on a map

Approximate corridor between Nassau and Fort Lauderdale. Operators fly the sector direct; the airports each listing uses are shown on the flight itself.

The airports on this route

One of the six legs names no airport at either end, so the field counts above do not add to six. That one is Call a Jet, which carries no airport code on any of its 214 recorded listings. What makes this corridor different from a domestic hop of the same length is the border. It is an international arrival into the United States, so the flight has to clear customs on the way in, and nothing in a listing tells you where or how long that takes. Ask before anything else. The two Fort Lauderdale fields are about nine miles apart, which is a smaller difference on the ground than the customs question is.

This is a record, not availability. These are the legs we saw on this corridor in that window, kept so the route has a history you can judge it by. None of them is bookable from this table. What is actually open right now is the live list above, and if it is empty the route alert is the way to catch the next one.

Before you book

The price on a card is the operator's figure for the whole aircraft. What that comes to per seat, across every type we see, is in how much an empty leg private jet costs.

Three of the six legs carry a published price and all three say exactly USD 9,300. One figure repeated three times is not a price range, and on this corridor it is not a price for the sector either.

Gold Aviation's USD 9,300 appears on 58 of its 125 recorded listings, across 42 different airport pairs. It is the figure this operator puts on this class of aircraft wherever it is flying, not the cost of Nassau to Fort Lauderdale. The three legs here were three different Phenom 300 airframes, tail numbers N301AZ, N92DJ and N631JS, all at the same number. Treat it as the operator's standing figure and confirm it before anything else.

Gold Aviation does price everything, which makes the flat figure more informative than it looks. All 125 of its recorded listings carry a price, across 23 distinct figures, and the three commonest are USD 9,300 on 58 listings, USD 8,900 on 23 and USD 16,600 on 19. Those three numbers cover 80 of its 125 listings, which looks like a small number of aircraft classes rather than 125 sector prices.

The other three legs carry no price at all. Hop-A-Jet has published a price on none of its 24 recorded listings and Call a Jet on none of its 214, so their rows record that one Learjet 60XR flew the corridor twice and a Challenger 604 flew it once, and nothing more. Ask the operator which Fort Lauderdale field you are landing at, where the flight clears customs, whether the departure time can still move, and what happens if the paid flight that created this empty leg falls through.
