Why this route produces empty legs

Dallas is the second busiest destination Austin produces on our board. Of the 53 departures we have recorded from Austin to 25 destinations, thirteen went to Houston and six came up this corridor, with Fort Worth next at four. The sector is 165 nautical miles. One further Austin departure is recorded to a field our data names Dallas Fort Worth, which is a separate name in our record and is not counted in the six.

Two of the six tell you almost nothing, and that is worth knowing before you read the table. Thrive Aviation lists a Gulfstream G450 for 14 and 15 August, both since flown, with no price, no seat count, no block time and no airport code at either end. That is not a gap in those two rows. Thrive is the second largest single source in our whole collection at 932 listings, and it publishes an aircraft type and nothing else on every one of them.

The four legs you can actually read come from three other companies and all four carry a tail number, resolving to three airframes. N567RW, a Cessna Citation Ultra from Lone Star Aviators, takes two of them. N750MF, a Cessna Citation X from Jet Linx Aviation, and N723JG, a Cessna Citation XLS from Leviate Air, take one each, and both of those airframes also appear on the Dallas to Austin page going the other way.

Northbound is the cheaper direction on two of the three airframes that fly both ways. N723JG is USD 3,900 into Addison and USD 4,300 leaving it three days earlier. N567RW is USD 2,000 leaving Austin Executive and USD 2,300 leaving Bergstrom, against USD 2,600 coming down from Love Field. N750MF is the exception and is USD 5,000 in both directions. If your dates are open either way, this is the cheaper page of the two.

When they show up

The four detailed legs arrived on a forward calendar of sorts and the two Thrive Aviation legs did not. Lone Star Aviators published both of its legs on 11 September, one for that same day and one for five days later. Jet Linx Aviation published the 11 October leg on 18 September, 23 days ahead, and Leviate Air published the 29 November leg on 16 September, 74 days ahead.

The two Thrive Aviation legs behaved the other way: the 15 August departure was published on 11 August and the 14 August departure on 14 August itself. Six legs spread over five weeks is a trickle rather than a schedule, so the route alert is worth more here than checking the page.

Approximate corridor between Austin and Dallas. Operators fly the sector direct; the airports each listing uses are shown on the flight itself.

The airports on this route

Four of the six listings name a field at both ends and they do not all use the same pair: two run Bergstrom to Love Field, one runs Austin Executive to Love Field and one runs Bergstrom to Addison. The computed distance on this page uses Bergstrom to Love Field, the pair on two of the four. The two Thrive Aviation listings name only the two cities and publish no field at either end, so we cannot say which Austin or Dallas airport they used.

This is a record, not availability. These are the legs we have recorded on this corridor, read when you opened this page, kept so the route has a history you can judge it by. None of them is bookable from this table. What is actually open right now is the live list above, and if it is empty the route alert is the way to catch the next one.

Austin to Dallas in the record

Every leg we have recorded between Austin and Dallas, in either direction, since 30 July 2026, whether it is still on the board or not. A leg leaves the board when the operator stops publishing it, and we cannot tell from outside whether it was sold or withdrawn, so these are counts of what was listed, not of what flew.

Legs by departure month

One bar per calendar month, from the first month in our record to the furthest date an operator has published so far. Grey bars are months already past, gold is this month and the months ahead. A blank month is a month we have no record for, and before August 2026 that means we were not yet recording. The months ahead hold only what operators have published up to now, and most empty legs appear days or weeks before departure, so those bars will keep growing. The shape says how far ahead operators publish, not how busy a month will be.

Each row is a pair of airports as the operator named them, in the direction flown. Both directions of the corridor are counted. An operator that names only the city leaves us the city, which is why some rows are city names.

Before you book

The price on a card is the operator's figure for the whole aircraft. What that comes to per seat, across every type we see, is in how much an empty leg private jet costs.

Four of the six carry a published price and they run from USD 2,000 to USD 5,000: a Cessna Citation Ultra at USD 2,000 and again at USD 2,300, a Cessna Citation XLS at USD 3,900 and a Cessna Citation X at USD 5,000. Each is the operator's figure for the whole aircraft, not a per seat fare. The two Thrive Aviation legs publish nothing at all, which is why two rows of the table read Not stated across three columns.

Seats are published on the same four legs and on neither of the others: seven on both Cessna Citation Ultra legs, eight on the Cessna Citation XLS and nine on the Cessna Citation X. All four also carry a tail number, and three airframes cover them, so this is three aircraft rather than four.

Published block times are 42 minutes on three of the four and 36 minutes on the Cessna Citation X. That same airframe, N750MF, publishes 42 minutes going the other way over the same pair of cities. We have no second listing on this corridor to test the 36 minutes against.

Ask the operator three things: whether the departure time can still move, what happens if the paid flight that created this empty leg falls through, and which Dallas field you are landing at, since Love Field is the closest to downtown and Addison is seven nautical miles further north.
