Why this route produces empty legs

Austin Bergstrom to Aspen-Pitkin County is about 705 nautical miles, and the legs here publish block times of an hour fifty four to two hours twelve. Central Texas to a mountain valley in the Colorado Rockies in about two hours.

Austin is the largest origin Aspen has on our board. Nine recorded legs arrive in Aspen from Austin, ahead of Fort Worth at five and Scottsdale and Van Nuys at four each. Aspen pulls aircraft in from across the southwest, and Texas is the biggest single feeder.

Seen from Austin it is the third busiest thing the city does. Austin produces eighteen recorded legs to Houston and eleven to Dallas, both short in state hops, and then Aspen at nine. Of everything Austin sends beyond Texas, this corridor is the largest.

Seven of the nine legs are one operator on one aircraft. Paradigm Jet Management flew seven, all of them an eight seat Citation CJ4, including a run of five consecutive days at the end of September. Jet Linx Aviation and Hera Flight each flew a Citation X. Two thirds of this corridor is a single light jet repeating itself.

When they show up

Nine legs on nine dates between 24 September and 18 October 2026. Five of those were consecutive, 27 September to 1 October, which is one CJ4 running the sector daily rather than five independent opportunities. The record here starts in late September, which is the front edge of the Colorado winter season rather than the whole of it.

One was still on the board when this page was built, 18 October. Nine legs in under four weeks is the densest stretch Aspen shows from any origin on our board, but it is a stretch rather than a pattern, so the route alert is worth more than checking the page.

The airports on this route

Sardy Field is the reason this corridor needs a question asked before you book. It sits at 7,820 feet in a valley, it has one runway, and the aircraft types that can use it are limited. Austin has sent four recorded legs to the lower Colorado fields instead, so what the operator does if Aspen is not usable on the day is worth settling in advance rather than discovering on the morning.

Every leg we have on record for this route

Between 31 July and 9 October 2026 we recorded 9 empty legs from Austin to Aspen. One of them carried a published price, USD 13,625 for the whole aircraft on a Citation X. The operator that flew seven of the nine publishes no prices on anything. All nine publish a block time, an hour fifty four to two hours twelve, and all nine publish a seat count of eight or nine. Two types appear, a Citation CJ4 on seven legs and a Citation X on two.

This is a record, not availability. These are the legs we saw on this corridor in that window, kept so the route has a history you can judge it by. None of them is bookable from this table. What is actually open right now is the live list above, and if it is empty the route alert is the way to catch the next one.

Before you book

One of the nine legs carries a published price, USD 13,625 for the whole aircraft on a Citation X. That is the Jet Linx Aviation leg on 24 September, and it is the only number on this corridor.

It is worth more than most single figures on this site, because of how that operator prices. Jet Linx has published a price on 275 of its 277 recorded listings, across 211 distinct figures over 233 airport pairs and 59 different tail numbers. An operator with almost as many prices as listings is quoting the sector rather than repeating a standing rate, so USD 13,625 is a real Austin to Aspen figure for that aircraft on that day.

The operator that flew most of the corridor publishes nothing. Paradigm Jet Management has 86 recorded listings across 47 airport pairs and a price on none of them, so all seven of its CJ4 legs below say on request. Hera Flight is the same: 408 listings, 263 airport pairs, no price on any of them.

The two priced and unpriced aircraft are not interchangeable. The Citation X is a nine seat, faster aircraft and the CJ4 an eight seat light jet, and the published block times differ by about fifteen minutes. Ask the operator for the figure, whether the departure time can still move, what happens if the paid flight that created the empty leg falls through, and what the plan is if Aspen cannot be used.
