Why this route produces empty legs

Regina is one of the two busiest destinations Calgary produces on our board. Of the 51 departures we have recorded from Calgary, thirteen went to Vancouver, eight to Regina and eight to Kelowna, and no other destination reached four. The sector is 355 nautical miles.

Regina is the narrower end of it, and that is the more useful fact. Regina appears in our record with only two other cities. All twelve departures we have recorded from Regina went to Calgary or Seattle, eight of them to Calgary, and of the fifteen arrivals into Regina, eight came from Calgary, six from Seattle and one from Toronto. There is no third Regina corridor at all.

Two operators split this direction evenly and each flies one type. Chartright Air Group lists three Bombardier Challenger 300 legs and Air Partners three Cessna Citation Excel legs. No third operator and no third aircraft type appears on this corridor in our record, in either direction.

The two publish very differently, which is why half this table is blank. Chartright carries a price on two of its three legs here and on 141 of its 296 rows overall. Air Partners carries one on none of its 30 rows anywhere in our record, so the three Citation Excel legs are the operator's choice rather than a gap in our collection. It does publish a tail number every time, and the three Excel legs are two airframes, C-FIAP twice and C-GXLI once.

Both directions, up to 20 flights, with the price exactly as the operator published it.

When they show up

In ones, never in bunches. The six legs run from 23 August to 6 October 2026 and no two share a date. One has already flown and the other five are still on the board.

Notice runs from about two weeks to six. The three Air Partners legs all entered our record on 8 September 2026, between thirteen and twenty eight days before departure. The three Chartright legs came in separately, on 7, 14 and 19 August, between sixteen and forty four days ahead.

The route on a map

Approximate corridor between Calgary and Regina. Operators fly the sector direct; the airports each listing uses are shown on the flight itself.

The airports on this route

Every one of the six listings names Calgary International and Regina International, so the computed distance on this page uses the pair the operators themselves use, with no ambiguity at either end. Seat counts are nine on five of the six and eight on the sixth, an Air Partners Citation Excel on 28 September.

This is a record, not availability. These are the legs we have recorded on this corridor, read when you opened this page, kept so the route has a history you can judge it by. None of them is bookable from this table. What is actually open right now is the live list above, and if it is empty the route alert is the way to catch the next one.

Calgary to Regina in the record

Every leg we have recorded between Calgary and Regina, in either direction, since 30 July 2026, whether it is still on the board or not. A leg leaves the board when the operator stops publishing it, and we cannot tell from outside whether it was sold or withdrawn, so these are counts of what was listed, not of what flew.

Legs by departure month

One bar per calendar month, from the first month in our record to the furthest date an operator has published so far. Grey bars are months already past, gold is this month and the months ahead. A blank month is a month we have no record for, and before August 2026 that means we were not yet recording. The months ahead hold only what operators have published up to now, and most empty legs appear days or weeks before departure, so those bars will keep growing. The shape says how far ahead operators publish, not how busy a month will be.

Each row is a pair of airports as the operator named them, in the direction flown. Both directions of the corridor are counted. An operator that names only the city leaves us the city, which is why some rows are city names.

Before you book

The price on a card is the operator's figure for the whole aircraft. What that comes to per seat, across every type we see, is in how much an empty leg private jet costs.

Two of the six carry a published price, both of them Chartright Air Group Challenger 300 legs, and both say CAD 9,500 for the whole aircraft. The other four say price on request: an earlier Challenger 300 that has since flown and all three Air Partners Citation Excel legs.

Going the other way costs more on the same operator's aircraft. Chartright lists the Challenger 300 at CAD 9,500 into Regina and at CAD 11,200 into Calgary, a difference of CAD 1,700 on the same type over the same ground.

The published block times split by type and by direction. Every Challenger 300 leg here says 1 hour and every Citation Excel leg says 1 hour 6 minutes. In the other direction the same two operators publish 1 hour 6 minutes and 1 hour 12 minutes, six minutes longer in each case.

Ask the operator three things: whether the departure time can still move, what happens if the paid flight that created this empty leg falls through, and, if your dates are open either way, read this page against Regina to Calgary first, because the only published figure in that direction is the higher one.
