One way empty legs between Carlsbad and Truckee, exactly as the operators list them. The operator confirms availability and the price with you directly.
Straight line distance between the two cities. Actual routing and flight time depend on the aircraft and the airports.
Carlsbad is the general aviation field for north San Diego County and Truckee is the airport for the north shore of Lake Tahoe. The two are tied together more tightly than any other pair either of them has: of the 43 legs we recorded touching Carlsbad, 9 involved Truckee, more than twice its next busiest partner, and of the 19 touching Truckee, 9 are Carlsbad, close to half.
One operator, Schubach Aviation, which is based at Carlsbad, listed every leg we have on this corridor in both directions. The two directions are nearly balanced, 5 this way and 4 coming back, which is what a fleet shuttling between its home base and a resort looks like rather than a market of competing charters.
In pairs, roughly a fortnight ahead. The two September legs both went on the board on 25 August, eleven and twelve days before departure, and they are the only forward dated legs on this corridor at the moment.
The three August legs were already listed when we started collecting on 31 July, so we cannot say how far ahead those appeared. Five legs in four weeks is a steady trickle rather than a schedule, which is why the alert is worth more than checking the page.
Approximate corridor between Carlsbad and Truckee. Operators fly the sector direct; the airports each listing uses are shown on the flight itself.
Truckee Tahoe sits at 5,900 feet in the Sierra Nevada. Field elevation and mountain weather matter more on this corridor than the drive at either end, and Reno is the bigger field nearby if they become a problem.
Between 31 July and 29 August 2026 we recorded 5 empty legs from Carlsbad to Truckee. None of them carried a published price: every operator on this corridor lists it on request. Each one was about an hour and a quarter in the air, on a Citation CJ3, a Hawker 900XP and one listing that says only M2.
| Departure | Aircraft | Seats | Operator's published price | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 Aug 2026 | Citation CJ3 | Not stated | On request | Already flown |
| 7 Aug 2026 | Citation CJ3 | Not stated | On request | Already flown |
| 9 Aug 2026 | Hawker 900XP | Not stated | On request | Already flown |
| 5 Sept 2026 | Citation CJ3 | Not stated | On request | On the board now |
| 6 Sept 2026 | M2 | Not stated | On request | On the board now |
The price on a card is the operator's figure for the whole aircraft. What that comes to per seat, across every type we see, is in how much an empty leg private jet costs.
No operator on this corridor publishes a price. All five legs say price on request, and none of them publishes a seat count or a flight time either, so almost everything you would want to compare has to come from the operator.
Three of the five listings are a Citation CJ3. One says only "M2" and names no manufacturer with it. The fifth is a Hawker 900XP, a noticeably larger cabin than the rest of the corridor runs, so the aircraft you get changes the trip more here than the price alone would tell you.
Ask the operator three things: whether the departure time can still move, what happens if the paid flight that created this empty leg falls through, and what the aircraft on an "M2" listing actually is.
