Why this route produces empty legs

Las Vegas is by far the largest source of arrivals into Los Angeles in our record. Twelve of the 30 listings we hold arriving in Los Angeles leave Las Vegas, four times as many as the next origin, Scottsdale, at three. The sector is about 205 nautical miles.

The traffic is one directional for the usual reason. Aircraft arrive in Las Vegas full and have to leave again, and Los Angeles is the nearest large city to send them to. Read from the Las Vegas end, Los Angeles is the fifth most frequent destination out of 99, behind Van Nuys at 24 listings, Aspen at 20, Scottsdale at 16 and Denver at 14.

Which raises the thing worth knowing before you search this route. Los Angeles here means Los Angeles International, and most Los Angeles private traffic does not go there, it goes to Van Nuys in the San Fernando Valley. Our Las Vegas to Van Nuys page holds 13 recorded legs against this page and ten. If your destination is anywhere in the Valley or on the west side, check both.

Ten movements on five aircraft types, from a six seat Beechcraft Premier IA to a Gulfstream G600. Two operators, and they publish very differently: Prestige Air Group gives a price, a tail number and a block time on all 74 of its listings in our record, while Thrive Aviation gives none of the three on any of its 1,039.

When they show up

In ones and twos, with a September cluster. Five of the ten movements departed in the last ten days of September 2026, three of them on 27 September alone, and the two still open are 28 November and 23 December.

Notice on this corridor splits by operator and it splits hard. The eight legs that have already flown appeared between one and 26 days before departure, three of them inside 48 hours. The two forward legs were listed 85 and 96 days out. That makes the alert worth more than the page here: the short notice legs are not on the board long enough to be found by browsing.

The route on a map

Approximate corridor between Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Operators fly the sector direct; the airports each listing uses are shown on the flight itself.

The airports on this route

Only one of the ten listings here carries airport codes, and that one runs Henderson to Los Angeles International. The other nine say Las Vegas and Los Angeles and nothing more, so the field at each end is the operator's to confirm. The distance on this page is measured from Harry Reid because that is what every other Las Vegas page uses, and Henderson would move it by about three nautical miles.

This is a record, not availability. These are the legs we have recorded on this corridor, read when you opened this page, kept so the route has a history you can judge it by. None of them is bookable from this table. What is actually open right now is the live list above, and if it is empty the route alert is the way to catch the next one.

Las Vegas to Los Angeles in the record

Every leg we have recorded between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, in either direction, since 30 July 2026, whether it is still on the board or not. A leg leaves the board when the operator stops publishing it, and we cannot tell from outside whether it was sold or withdrawn, so these are counts of what was listed, not of what flew.

Legs by departure month

One bar per calendar month, from the first month in our record to the furthest date an operator has published so far. Grey bars are months already past, gold is this month and the months ahead. A blank month is a month we have no record for, and before August 2026 that means we were not yet recording. The months ahead hold only what operators have published up to now, and most empty legs appear days or weeks before departure, so those bars will keep growing. The shape says how far ahead operators publish, not how busy a month will be.

Each row is a pair of airports as the operator named them, in the direction flown. Both directions of the corridor are counted. An operator that names only the city leaves us the city, which is why some rows are city names.

Before you book

The price on a card is the operator's figure for the whole aircraft. What that comes to per seat, across every type we see, is in how much an empty leg private jet costs.

One of the ten legs carries a published price: USD 4,000 for the whole aircraft on a six seat Beechcraft Premier IA, tail N22VK, leaving Henderson on 26 September with a 54 minute block time. That is Prestige Air Group, which prices all 74 of its listings.

The other nine are Thrive Aviation and they say price on request, so the figure comes from the operator when you ask and we show nothing rather than guess. Thrive also publishes no seat count and no block time, which is why nine rows of the table below read Not stated in those columns. That is not a gap in our data, it is the whole of what the operator publishes.

Do not read the USD 4,000 as a corridor rate. Prestige Air Group lists the same USD 4,000 on a Beechcraft Premier for Las Vegas to San Francisco, a sector nearly twice as long, so that figure is a rate card and not a distance based price.

We hold five movements going the other way, Los Angeles back to Las Vegas, which does not yet have a page of its own but is worth searching separately. Ask the operator whether the departure time can still move, which Los Angeles field the aircraft is landing at, and what happens if the paid flight that created this empty leg falls through.
