Why this route produces empty legs

Milwaukee to Miami is a 1,090 nautical mile run and it is the most frequent thing Milwaukee does in our record. Mitchell International sends 98 recorded empty legs to 67 destinations, and Miami Opa-locka is first of them at nine listings, ahead of Eau Claire at five and Teterboro at three.

At the Florida end it is just as prominent. Opa-locka Executive takes its recorded arrivals from a long list of origins, and Milwaukee is joint first on that list at nine, level with Tampa. A Wisconsin field and a Florida one sitting level at the top of the arrivals into the main Miami business aviation field is worth noticing on a corridor this long.

Nine of the ten legs are one operator flying one aircraft type. Jet OUT on a Citation CJ4 at eight seats, on nine separate dates between 3 September and 16 December. That is not an accident of our sampling: Jet OUT has 762 recorded legs with us and every single one is a Citation CJ4. It publishes no price, no tail number and no block time on any of them.

The tenth leg is the exception in every respect. Jet Linx Aviation, a twelve seat Dassault Falcon 900EX, tail N420PD, two hours 36 in the air, USD 21,918 published, and it is the only leg on the corridor that lands at Miami Executive rather than Opa-locka. One listing in ten carries all the detail the other nine withhold.

When they show up

Ten movements on ten separate dates between 3 September and 16 December 2026, no two sharing a date. Six fall in September, then 3 and 12 October, 12 November and 16 December, which is a trickle rather than a schedule once the September run ends.

Notice runs from one day to nearly three months. Jet OUT listed its 16 December leg on 20 September, 87 days ahead, and its 12 November leg on 23 September. At the other end, the 3 September leg appeared the day before it flew. The one priced leg, the Jet Linx Falcon 900EX on 3 October, was listed ten days out. Three of the ten were still on the board when this page was built, all of them Jet OUT and all of them in October or later.

The airports on this route

Nine of the ten legs land at Opa-locka, north of Miami, and the tenth lands at Miami Executive in the south west of the county. They are a long way apart on the ground, so a listing that says only Miami is worth confirming before you plan the drive. On the Milwaukee side there is no ambiguity: Mitchell International takes all ten departures.

This is a record, not availability. These are the legs we have recorded on this corridor, read when you opened this page, kept so the route has a history you can judge it by. None of them is bookable from this table. What is actually open right now is the live list above, and if it is empty the route alert is the way to catch the next one.

Milwaukee to Miami in the record

Every leg we have recorded between Milwaukee and Miami, in either direction, since 30 July 2026, whether it is still on the board or not. A leg leaves the board when the operator stops publishing it, and we cannot tell from outside whether it was sold or withdrawn, so these are counts of what was listed, not of what flew.

Legs by departure month

One bar per calendar month, from the first month in our record to the furthest date an operator has published so far. Grey bars are months already past, gold is this month and the months ahead. A blank month is a month we have no record for, and before August 2026 that means we were not yet recording. The months ahead hold only what operators have published up to now, and most empty legs appear days or weeks before departure, so those bars will keep growing. The shape says how far ahead operators publish, not how busy a month will be.

Each row is a pair of airports as the operator named them, in the direction flown. Both directions of the corridor are counted. An operator that names only the city leaves us the city, which is why some rows are city names.

Before you book

The price on a card is the operator's figure for the whole aircraft. What that comes to per seat, across every type we see, is in how much an empty leg private jet costs.

One of the ten recorded legs carries a published price: USD 21,918 for the whole twelve seat Dassault Falcon 900EX, from Jet Linx Aviation on 3 October. That is the operator's figure for the entire aircraft, never per seat and never a from price.

It is also not a round number, which is what an operator's own calculation looks like rather than a rate card. Jet Linx is consistent about this across a wide fleet: 232 recorded legs with us, a published price on 230 of them and a tail number on all 232, spread across 24 aircraft types. Being that varied and that open at the same time is rarer than it sounds.

The other nine carry no price, and they never will. Jet OUT has published a price on none of its 762 recorded listings, and no tail number and no block time either. That is house policy rather than anything about this route, so the absence tells you nothing at all about what the flight costs. You have to ask.

Worth asking as well: whether the CJ4 is landing at Opa-locka, as it has on every recorded leg, whether the departure time can still move, and what happens if the paid flight that created this empty leg falls through. Miami back to Milwaukee exists in our record at six legs, so if the direction is wrong for you the return is worth raising in the same call.
