Why this route produces empty legs

Nassau is one of the smallest nodes we track, nineteen departures to eleven destinations, and Miami is more than a quarter of everything leaving it. Five movements, and no other destination from Nassau reaches three. The sector is about 160 nautical miles and 42 to 48 minutes in the air.

The far end is the opposite shape. Miami Opa Locka takes 310 arrivals from 100 origins and sends 410 departures to 124 destinations, more departures than any other field in our record, so Nassau's five barely register there. That asymmetry is the whole reason the corridor exists: aircraft come down from Florida on paid work and then have to get home.

Miami to Nassau is on the board at eight movements against these five, so the corridor runs roughly three to two southbound. That is what a leisure destination looks like in empty leg data. The paid flights go out and a slightly smaller number of empty ones come back, because some of those aircraft stay on the island or carry on somewhere else.

Two operators, five movements, five different aircraft types, and the cabins are remarkable for a 45 minute hop. Executive Air Services has three legs and they are a fourteen seat Gulfstream G-IVSP, a fourteen seat Gulfstream G-V and a seven seat Beechcraft Beechjet 400. Lone Star Aviators has the other two, a nine seat Bombardier Challenger 300 and a seven seat Cessna Citation Ultra. A long range heavy jet crossing 160 nautical miles is not efficiency, it is an aircraft going home.

When they show up

Five movements on five dates, and they span nine and a half months, 18 September 2026 to 1 July 2027, which is one of the three widest spreads on this site. Two have already flown, in September and on 1 October, and the other three were all still on the board when this page was built.

Notice splits by how far out the date sits. The September and October legs went on the board ten and seven days ahead. The two November legs were first seen 54 and 59 days out. The 1 July 2027 Gulfstream G-V has been listed since 8 September 2026, which is 296 days of notice. A few listings elsewhere in our record run longer still, out to 480 days, but nothing else on this corridor comes within seven months of it. A positioning flight on the board ten months early is not a flight anyone is waiting on, so read that row as a record rather than as a plan.

The route on a map

Approximate corridor between Nassau and Miami. Operators fly the sector direct; the airports each listing uses are shown on the flight itself.

The airports on this route

Both ends of this corridor are fixed in our record: Lynden Pindling on every departure and Opa Locka on every arrival, so there is no field choice to ask about. This is an international sector, so passports are needed for everyone on board and the aircraft clears United States customs on arrival in Florida. The distance on this page is computed from the two ICAO codes on the listings rather than from any coordinates stored with them.

This is a record, not availability. These are the legs we have recorded on this corridor, read when you opened this page, kept so the route has a history you can judge it by. None of them is bookable from this table. What is actually open right now is the live list above, and if it is empty the route alert is the way to catch the next one.

Nassau to Miami in the record

Every leg we have recorded between Nassau and Miami, in either direction, since 30 July 2026, whether it is still on the board or not. A leg leaves the board when the operator stops publishing it, and we cannot tell from outside whether it was sold or withdrawn, so these are counts of what was listed, not of what flew.

Legs by departure month

One bar per calendar month, from the first month in our record to the furthest date an operator has published so far. Grey bars are months already past, gold is this month and the months ahead. A blank month is a month we have no record for, and before August 2026 that means we were not yet recording. The months ahead hold only what operators have published up to now, and most empty legs appear days or weeks before departure, so those bars will keep growing. The shape says how far ahead operators publish, not how busy a month will be.

Each row is a pair of airports as the operator named them, in the direction flown. Both directions of the corridor are counted. An operator that names only the city leaves us the city, which is why some rows are city names.

Before you book

The price on a card is the operator's figure for the whole aircraft. What that comes to per seat, across every type we see, is in how much an empty leg private jet costs.

Two of the five carry a published price and both are Lone Star Aviators: USD 2,600 for the whole aircraft on a seven seat Cessna Citation Ultra, tail N331BR, on 20 November, and USD 5,200 on a nine seat Bombardier Challenger 300, tail N590MC, on 1 October. Twice the money for two more seats over the identical sector.

That pair is clean because it is one operator pricing two of its own aircraft on the same 160 nautical miles, so what separates the figures is the cabin and nothing else. It is worth setting against the same comparison on the Miami to Nassau page, where Lone Star listed a seven seat Citation Ultra at USD 2,300 and a nine seat Challenger 300 at USD 4,400 going the other way. The same operator, the same two aircraft, both directions, and both northbound figures are the higher of the pair, by USD 300 and USD 800.

The three unpriced legs are all Executive Air Services, and that is house policy rather than a gap on this route: it has published a price on none of its 290 listings in our record and a tail number on none of them either. Lone Star is the opposite and publishes a price, a tail number and a block time on all 402 of its listings. On this corridor the operator decides whether you see a number, and there is nothing about the route to ask.

The two unpriced Gulfstreams are the ones worth ringing about anyway. A fourteen seat G-IVSP flew this sector on 18 September and a fourteen seat G-V is listed for 1 July 2027, both Executive Air Services, both at 48 minutes. They are the largest cabins on the corridor and asking is the only way to find out what either costs.

Miami to Nassau has its own page and is the busier direction. Ask the operator whether the figure covers the whole aircraft or a part charter, where customs is cleared on the Florida side, and what happens if the paid flight that created this empty leg falls through.
