One way empty legs between Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, exactly as the operators list them. Prices are the operator's own, not a marked up quote.
Straight line distance between the two cities. Actual routing and flight time depend on the aircraft and the airports.
Orlando to Fort Lauderdale is about 155 nautical miles from Orlando International and six of the seven legs we have on record say 30 minutes in the air. On a flight that brief the drive at each end is much the longer half of the journey, and the three different Orlando fields in this record are the reason to read the airports below before you take a leg.
One operator accounts for all seven legs. Gold Aviation lists every leg we hold on this corridor, on two aircraft: an Embraer Praetor 600 with nine seats on two of them and an Embraer Phenom 300 with seven seats on the other five. Three different Phenom tail numbers appear, one of them on three legs, so this is a fleet working the peninsula rather than a single aeroplane.
Fort Lauderdale is the largest destination out of Orlando on our board, seven of the 79 legs we have recorded leaving Orlando, with Naples next on five. Seen from the other end it is second of the 112 legs we hold into Fort Lauderdale, behind Nassau on eight and ahead of Turks and Caicos and Tampa on six each.
The traffic is almost entirely southbound. Our record holds three Fort Lauderdale to Orlando legs against seven in this direction, nowhere near the five we require before a corridor gets a page, so there is no page for the return. Empty aircraft are heading for the south east Florida bases, which is where this fleet lives.
Seven legs on six dates between 20 September and 29 October 2026, and five of the seven fall in a single week: one on 4 October, two on 5 October and two on 7 October.
One leg was still on the board when this page was built, a Phenom 300 on 29 October. The other six have already flown. A corridor that produced five legs in four days and then nothing for three weeks is one to watch with the route alert rather than by refreshing this page.
Approximate corridor between Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. Operators fly the sector direct; the airports each listing uses are shown on the flight itself.
Three different Orlando fields across seven legs is the thing to watch here. Kissimmee is about five nautical miles closer to Fort Lauderdale than Orlando International and Sanford about fifteen further, which makes no difference in the air and a great deal on the ground, because the three sit on opposite sides of the metropolitan area. Check which one your leg leaves from before you judge the journey.
Between 31 July and 14 October 2026 we recorded 7 empty legs from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale. All seven carried a published price, from USD 8,900 to USD 16,600 for the whole aircraft, and only three distinct figures appear: one for the Praetor 600 and two for the Phenom 300. All seven publish a block time, a seat count and a tail number: 30 minutes on six of them and 36 on the last, nine seats on the two Praetor 600 legs and seven on the five Phenom 300s.
| Departure | Aircraft | Seats | Operator's published price | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 Sep 2026 | Embraer Praetor 600 | 9 | USD 16,600 | Already flown |
| 04 Oct 2026 | Embraer Phenom 300 | 7 | USD 9,300 | Already flown |
| 05 Oct 2026 | Embraer Praetor 600 | 9 | USD 16,600 | Already flown |
| 05 Oct 2026 | Embraer Phenom 300 | 7 | USD 8,900 | Already flown |
| 07 Oct 2026 | Embraer Phenom 300 | 7 | USD 9,300 | Already flown |
| 07 Oct 2026 | Embraer Phenom 300 | 7 | USD 8,900 | Already flown |
| 29 Oct 2026 | Embraer Phenom 300 | 7 | USD 8,900 | On the board now |
All seven legs carry a published price and there are only three figures among them: USD 16,600 on both Praetor 600 legs, USD 9,300 on two of the Phenom 300s and USD 8,900 on the other three.
Those are Gold Aviation's list prices, not this sector's. Its USD 9,300 appears on 79 of the 158 listings we have recorded from it, across 60 different city pairs, the USD 8,900 on 25 listings across 23 pairs and the USD 16,600 on 19 across 17. The same aircraft costs the same whether it is flying 30 minutes or several hours, which is why a short empty leg can look expensive and a long one cheap.
Gold Aviation publishes a price on all 158 listings we have recorded from it, across 118 city pairs, which is unusual on this board. It also publishes a seat count, a block time and a tail number on every leg on this corridor.
What the price buys is the aircraft, not a seat: USD 8,900 is the figure for the whole Phenom 300, nine seats on the Praetor for USD 16,600, and the operator sets both. Ask which Orlando field you are leaving from, whether the time can still move, and what happens if the paid flight that created the empty leg falls through.
