Why this route produces empty legs

This is the return half of a summer season. Aktion National (LGPZ) serves Lefkada, Parga and the Ionian coast, and the aircraft working it are based in the United Kingdom rather than in Greece. When the paying passengers stay on, the aircraft flies north empty.

All five legs we have on record came from one operator, Jet Assist, and all five were the same aircraft type, a Learjet 45XR with eight seats. The London end was Biggin Hill every time, not Luton and not Farnborough.

Four of these five dates also appear on the outbound board as London to Preveza empty legs. On 10 and 18 September and on 4 and 9 October the operator was offering the flight down and the flight back on the same day, both empty.
