Why this route produces empty legs

Witham Field at Stuart to Long Island MacArthur at Islip is about 890 nautical miles, and the legs here publish block times of two hours eighteen to two hours thirty six. It is the Treasure Coast of Florida to the middle of Long Island without going near New York's main airports.

This single corridor is the biggest thing either airport does on our board. Fifteen recorded legs leave Stuart for Islip. The next busiest thing Stuart sends anywhere is five legs to Teterboro, then four to Westhampton Beach. Seen from the other end, Islip's largest inbound origin is Stuart at fifteen, ahead of Miami at six.

Fourteen of the fifteen legs are one operator, Executive Fliteways. That is the central fact about this page. It is not many aircraft independently solving the same repositioning problem, it is one company moving its fleet between a Florida base and a Long Island base. Lone Star Aviators flew the fifteenth.

The same aircraft type keeps coming back. A Gulfstream G280 accounts for eleven of the fifteen legs, with two Citation Sovereigns, one Challenger 604 and one Citation Ultra making up the rest. When one airframe class does three quarters of a corridor, what shows up next is more predictable than on a corridor fed by many operators.

When they show up

Fifteen legs on fourteen dates, with departures from 1 October 2026 out to 22 April 2027. The 1 October date carried two, from two different operators on two different aircraft. The pattern is a few a month rather than a schedule, and the listings run further into the future than most corridors on this site.

Six of the fifteen were still on the board when this page was built, including dates in October, November, December and the following April. Six live listings at once is unusual here, and it is a consequence of one operator publishing its repositioning plan well ahead.

The airports on this route

Islip is the right arrival for Suffolk County and the middle of Long Island and the wrong one for Manhattan, which is about 50 miles west through traffic that can take as long as the flight. Nothing in a listing tells you that, so decide which end of Long Island you are actually going to before the departure field matters.

Every leg we have on record for this route

Between 31 July and 9 October 2026 we recorded 15 empty legs from Stuart to Islip. One of them carried a published price, USD 8,000 for the whole aircraft on a Citation Ultra. The operator behind the other fourteen publishes no prices on anything. All fifteen publish a block time, from two hours eighteen to two hours thirty six, and all fifteen publish a seat count, from seven to twelve. Four aircraft types appear, led by a Gulfstream G280 on eleven of the legs.

This is a record, not availability. These are the legs we saw on this corridor in that window, kept so the route has a history you can judge it by. None of them is bookable from this table. What is actually open right now is the live list above, and if it is empty the route alert is the way to catch the next one.

Before you book

One of the fifteen legs carries a published price, USD 8,000 for the whole aircraft on a Citation Ultra. That is the Lone Star Aviators leg on 1 October, and it is the only number on this corridor.

Executive Fliteways, which flew the other fourteen, publishes no prices at all. It has 216 recorded listings with us across 109 airport pairs and a price on none of them. So on fourteen of the fifteen rows below, the price column says on request because that is literally what the operator published, not because we removed anything.

The one number that does exist is not the price of this corridor. Lone Star Aviators prices every one of its 480 recorded listings, but across only 85 distinct figures spread over 346 different airport pairs. USD 8,000 is closer to a rate for that aircraft on that day than a Stuart to Islip fare, and it was for a seven seat Citation Ultra rather than the nine seat G280 that does most of the flying here.

Ask the operator three things: whether the departure time can still move, what happens if the paid flight that created the empty leg falls through, and whether the Long Island end could become Westhampton Beach instead. If nothing is listed today, the route alert is worth more than checking back.
