If you want to know what an empty leg costs, start here. The Ultra's operators publish a figure on the large majority of their repositioning flights, which no other type on this board comes close to.

Sault Ste Marie to Toronto and the return is the busiest pairing on the page, Dallas to Houston and back the American one, and Toronto to Teterboro the cross border regular. Two countries, a handful of operators, and a lot of flights.
The Ultra is the reason the seat cost analysis in the pricing guide has enough data to say anything. The record block above gives the current median in the type's dominant currency and the price per flight hour that follows. Notice is short, under a week, and a fair share of legs go within a day, so the price you see is the price to act on.

The Ultra was the 1994 successor to the V and was itself replaced by the Encore in 2000. Seven or eight seats, a straight wing, and running costs low enough that its operators can publish keen figures. Specification: Citation V Ultra specifications.

The Ultra of 1994 was the third and final development of the Citation V line, with JT15D-5D engines, more range and a Primus 1000 cockpit. It sold 279 aircraft in five years before the Encore replaced it, and a great many are still in charter service, particularly in North America, where low acquisition cost makes them attractive to operators who publish keen empty leg prices. That is why it is the most transparently priced type on this site.
