Why this route produces empty legs

Los Angeles International to Henderson Executive is about 200 nautical miles, and the three legs here that publish a block time give forty two or fifty four minutes. The reverse of this page, Las Vegas to Los Angeles, carries twelve legs against the nine here, so on this pair the empty capacity runs mostly the other way. Las Vegas is a city aircraft arrive at full and leave empty, which is what produces the legs in both directions.

All three legs that name their airports land at Henderson Executive, not Harry Reid. That is worth knowing before you read the distance: Henderson is about fifteen miles south east of the Strip and the computed figure on this page is to Henderson, because that is the only Las Vegas field any listing on this corridor states. The other six give only the city.

Two of the nine carry a published price and they are far apart. Prestige Air Group listed a six seat Premier 1A at USD 4,000 for 19 September with a forty two minute block, and Wing Aviation a fourteen seat Gulfstream G400 at USD 7,400 for 23 October, also forty two minutes. Both figures are for the whole aircraft as the operator published them. They do not bracket a rate for this route, they tell you what two different operators wanted for two very different aeroplanes.

Thrive Aviation has six of the nine and publishes almost nothing about them. Those six give an aircraft type and a date and no seat count, no airport, no block time and no price. They include a Citation CJ3+ on three of the six, a Citation Longitude on two and a Gulfstream G600 for January. The other three legs, from three other operators, are the only ones on this page you can read properly.

When they show up

Nine legs on nine dates between 9 September 2026 and 3 January 2027. Seven of the nine fall in the five weeks from 9 September to 13 October, and then there is one in late October and one in January, so the useful window on this corridor so far has been autumn.

Two were on the board when this page was built and seven have flown. Not one was withdrawn. Notice on the three fully stated legs ran from three to eleven days, which is short. Thrive Aviation's six went up between five and one hundred and seven days ahead, which is no pattern at all. The route alert below covers both.

The airports on this route

Los Angeles International is an airline hub, and the private traffic on this pair mostly does not use it: we have recorded 600 listings touching Van Nuys against 69 touching Los Angeles International. If you are coming from the Valley or the west side, look at the Van Nuys page as well as this one before you commit to anything.

Every leg we have on record for this route

Between 31 July and 18 October 2026 we recorded 9 empty legs from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Two of them carried a published price, USD 4,000 for the whole aircraft on a six seat Premier 1A and USD 7,400 for the whole aircraft on a fourteen seat Gulfstream G400. Three of the nine publish a block time, forty two minutes on two of them and fifty four on the third, and the same three publish a seat count of six, six and fourteen. None publishes a tail number.

This is a record, not availability. These are the legs we saw on this corridor in that window, kept so the route has a history you can judge it by. None of them is bookable from this table. What is actually open right now is the live list above, and if it is empty the route alert is the way to catch the next one.

Before you book

Two of the nine legs carry a published price, USD 4,000 for a six seat Premier 1A from Prestige Air Group and USD 7,400 for a fourteen seat Gulfstream G400 from Wing Aviation. Both are the operator's own figure for the whole aircraft. Neither is a per seat fare and neither is a from price.

Which operator you get decides whether you see a price at all. Wing Aviation publishes a price on all 97 of its listings on this board and Prestige Air Group on all 85 of its, which is why both priced legs here are theirs. Thrive Aviation publishes none on any of its 1,518 and XCEL JET none on any of its 139, which is why the other seven say price on request.

Three of the nine publish a seat count, six, six and fourteen, and the same three publish a block time of forty two or fifty four minutes. The six Thrive Aviation legs publish the aircraft type and the date and nothing else. None of the nine publishes a tail number.

Ask which Las Vegas field you are landing at, since only a third of these legs say. Ask whether the departure time can still move, and what happens to the empty leg if the paid flight behind it falls through. If you are flexible on the Los Angeles end, ask the operator whether the aircraft could pick up at Van Nuys instead.
