Why this route produces empty legs

Miami to Naples is a short hop straight across the peninsula, about 80 nautical miles, and every one of the ten recorded legs is listed at 36 minutes. It is one of the shortest corridors we have a page for, and the only one where the whole table carries a single identical block time.

Opa-locka Executive sends 305 recorded empty legs to 129 airports and Naples is joint fourth of them at ten listings, level with Daytona Beach and behind Tampa at fifteen, Jacksonville at thirteen and Teterboro at twelve. Four of Opa-locka's top five destinations are inside Florida, which is what a field doing a lot of short repositioning looks like.

From the Naples end, Opa-locka is the single biggest source. Naples takes ten recorded arrivals from Opa-locka, ahead of Las Vegas and Toronto at six each. The reverse of this page, Naples back to Opa-locka, is six legs, so the corridor runs ten to six in this direction.

Nine of the ten legs are Executive Air Services, and seven of those nine are the same aircraft type: a Gulfstream G-V at fourteen seats, on seven dates between 30 December and 18 April. The other two Executive Air Services legs are Gulfstream G-IVSPs in October and November, and the tenth leg on the corridor is a six seat Embraer Phenom 100 from Naples Jet Center. Executive Air Services has 272 recorded legs with us across seven aircraft types and publishes neither a price nor a tail number on any of them.

When they show up

This corridor is listed a long way ahead. Ten movements on ten dates running from 18 October 2026 to 18 April 2027, and six of the ten fall in 2027. Five of them sit inside a ten day block at the turn of the year, 30 December to 8 January, which is the only cluster on the corridor.

Notice is correspondingly long. Every one of the ten was first seen between 8 and 24 September 2026, which puts the 18 April 2027 leg on the board more than seven months before its departure date and gives the earliest departure, 18 October, about six weeks. Six of the ten have already come off the board without their date arriving, and on a corridor booked this far out that is the thing to watch: these are listings that can disappear long before they fly.

The airports on this route

Both ends are fixed in our record, Opa-locka on every departure and Naples Municipal on every arrival, so there is no field to settle. What is worth settling is the timing. Six of the ten legs here are more than three months out, and a listing that far ahead reflects the operator's current plan rather than a commitment. Naples back to Opa-locka exists at six legs if the direction is wrong for you.

This is a record, not availability. These are the legs we have recorded on this corridor, read when you opened this page, kept so the route has a history you can judge it by. None of them is bookable from this table. What is actually open right now is the live list above, and if it is empty the route alert is the way to catch the next one.

Miami to Naples in the record

Every leg we have recorded between Miami and Naples, in either direction, since 30 July 2026, whether it is still on the board or not. A leg leaves the board when the operator stops publishing it, and we cannot tell from outside whether it was sold or withdrawn, so these are counts of what was listed, not of what flew.

Legs by departure month

One bar per calendar month, from the first month in our record to the furthest date an operator has published so far. Grey bars are months already past, gold is this month and the months ahead. A blank month is a month we have no record for, and before August 2026 that means we were not yet recording. The months ahead hold only what operators have published up to now, and most empty legs appear days or weeks before departure, so those bars will keep growing. The shape says how far ahead operators publish, not how busy a month will be.

Each row is a pair of airports as the operator named them, in the direction flown. Both directions of the corridor are counted. An operator that names only the city leaves us the city, which is why some rows are city names.

Before you book

The price on a card is the operator's figure for the whole aircraft. What that comes to per seat, across every type we see, is in how much an empty leg private jet costs.

No operator on this corridor publishes a price. Nine of the ten legs are Executive Air Services, which has published a price on none of its 272 recorded listings, and the tenth is Naples Jet Center, which has published a price on none of its 29. The figure comes from the operator when you ask, and we show nothing rather than guess.

Neither operator publishes a tail number either. What both do publish, on every leg here, is the aircraft type, the seat count and the 36 minute block time, so the cabin is the one thing you can compare before you ring.

On that score the corridor is lopsided. Nine of the ten legs are Gulfstreams at thirteen or fourteen seats, seven of them the same G-V, and the tenth is a six seat Embraer Phenom 100. There is nothing in between. Naples Jet Center lists only the Phenom 100 anywhere in our record, 29 legs of it, so that single row is the whole of the light jet option here.

Ask the operator what the whole aircraft figure is, whether a date this far out can still move, and what happens if the paid flight that created this empty leg falls through. On a 36 minute sector it is also worth asking how the figure is built, since the aircraft still has to be crewed and handled at both ends however short the flight is.
