Why this route produces empty legs

Miami-Opa Locka Executive to Orlando Executive is about 170 nautical miles, and every one of the eight legs here that publishes a block time gives the same figure, forty eight minutes. That makes it one of the shortest corridors on this board, short enough that the time spent on the ground at either end can rival the time in the air.

Eight of the twelve legs are one operator inside a thirteen day window. Executive Air Services listed legs on 10, 11, 12, 12, 14, 16, 17 and 22 October. That run is two thirds of everything we have recorded on this corridor and it is a handful of aircraft shuttling, not eight independent chances. Take it out and four legs remain, spread across August and September.

Those four come from three different operators and they are the larger aircraft. Thrive Aviation listed a Citation Sovereign+ on 9 August and a Gulfstream G450 on 14 September, Jet OUT an eight seat Citation CJ4 into Sanford on 30 August, and DuPage Aerospace a fifteen seat Gulfstream G-500 from Miami Executive into Orlando International on 9 September. Those four are the genuinely independent repositioning flights here.

Three different Orlando airports appear and they are not interchangeable. Six legs went to Orlando Executive, three to Orlando International and one to Sanford. The computed distance on this page uses Opa-locka to Orlando Executive, the pair that six of the twelve actually used.

When they show up

Twelve legs on eleven dates between 9 August and 22 October 2026, with 12 October carrying two. Eight of the eleven dates fall inside the thirteen days from 10 to 22 October, so a month of this corridor can look busy and the rest of the quarter can produce almost nothing.

Only one of the twelve was still on the board when this page was built. Eleven have flown and not one was withdrawn. This corridor also releases very late: the legs went up between nought and thirty four days before departure, and at least one was listed on the day it flew. A page you refresh will not catch a corridor that behaves like this, which is what the route alert below is for.

The airports on this route

On a forty eight minute flight the field you land at decides most of your day. Orlando Executive is the quickest into the city, Orlando International is the one to ask for if you are going to the parks or the convention centre, and Sanford is well to the north east and only convenient if that is where you are headed. Ask before you agree, because the three are nearly an hour apart on the ground.

Every leg we have on record for this route

Between 31 July and 18 October 2026 we recorded 12 empty legs from Miami to Orlando. None of them carried a published price: every operator on this corridor lists it on request. Eight of the twelve publish a block time and every one of them says forty eight minutes, and ten publish a seat count between seven and fifteen. None publishes a tail number.

This is a record, not availability. These are the legs we saw on this corridor in that window, kept so the route has a history you can judge it by. None of them is bookable from this table. What is actually open right now is the live list above, and if it is empty the route alert is the way to catch the next one.

Before you book

Not one of the twelve legs carries a published price. Every listing on this corridor says price on request, so the figure comes from the operator when you ask and we show nothing rather than guess.

All four operators here publish prices nowhere on this board. Executive Air Services shows no figure on any of its 478 listings across 182 city pairs, Thrive Aviation none on any of its 1,518, Jet OUT none on any of its 1,797 and DuPage Aerospace none on any of its 77. On a corridor this short that is a nuisance, because the sector is cheap and the handling and landing fees at the Orlando end are a larger part of the number than they would be on a longer flight.

Ten of the twelve publish a seat count, between seven and fifteen, and eight publish a block time of forty eight minutes. The two that publish no seat count are the Thrive Aviation pair, which give no airport at either end either. None of the twelve publishes a tail number.

Ask which Orlando field you are landing at, whether the departure time can still move, and what happens to the empty leg if the paid flight behind it falls through. On a sector this short, also ask what the total is with fees rather than just the price of the aircraft.
