Why this route produces empty legs

This is the most one sided corridor we publish. Seven recorded movements run from Houston to Las Vegas and exactly one runs back. Everything else we publish out of Houston is close to balanced: Dallas, Austin and Fort Worth all produce traffic in both directions. This one does not, which means the aircraft that repositions to Las Vegas almost always has a paid job waiting there rather than a return.

At 1,070 nautical miles it is also the longest corridor on our Las Vegas board by a wide margin, 145 nautical miles further than Dallas to Las Vegas at 925 and more than three times the 340 from Las Vegas to San Jose. Distance is why the aircraft on it are larger and why the one published price is the highest that operator charges anywhere in our record.

Houston is a big producer, 139 recorded departures to 60 different destinations, but the Las Vegas flow comes from just two operators. Thrive Aviation supplies six of the seven, five of them on the same Cessna Citation Longitude type across five dates, and Prestige Air Group the seventh.

Every one of the seven has already flown and nothing is listed forward today, which is worth saying plainly rather than dressing up. The record below runs 16 August to 22 September 2026 and stops. On a corridor that produced seven movements in five weeks and then went quiet, the route alert is the only sensible way to catch the next one.

When they show up

Seven movements in five weeks, from 16 August to 22 September 2026, then nothing. Five of the seven fall in the four weeks from 26 August to 22 September. All seven have already departed.

When it was running, notice was short. Measured from the day each listing entered our record to its departure, the seven gave the same day, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 14 days. The 26 August Citation Longitude came in the same day it flew.

The route on a map

Approximate corridor between Houston and Las Vegas. Operators fly the sector direct; the airports each listing uses are shown on the flight itself.

The airports on this route

Only one of the seven listings names its airports and it says Hobby to Henderson Executive, so that is the pair the distance above uses. Houston matters here more than most cities: our record holds Houston departures on eight different fields, Hobby on 90 listings and seven others on 46 between them, and they are spread right across the metropolitan area, so the field on your listing can change your ground time by an hour.

This is a record, not availability. These are the legs we have recorded on this corridor, read when you opened this page, kept so the route has a history you can judge it by. None of them is bookable from this table. What is actually open right now is the live list above, and if it is empty the route alert is the way to catch the next one.

Houston to Las Vegas in the record

Every leg we have recorded between Houston and Las Vegas, in either direction, since 30 July 2026, whether it is still on the board or not. A leg leaves the board when the operator stops publishing it, and we cannot tell from outside whether it was sold or withdrawn, so these are counts of what was listed, not of what flew.

Legs by departure month

One bar per calendar month, from the first month in our record to the furthest date an operator has published so far. Grey bars are months already past, gold is this month and the months ahead. A blank month is a month we have no record for, and before August 2026 that means we were not yet recording. The months ahead hold only what operators have published up to now, and most empty legs appear days or weeks before departure, so those bars will keep growing. The shape says how far ahead operators publish, not how busy a month will be.

Each row is a pair of airports as the operator named them, in the direction flown. Both directions of the corridor are counted. An operator that names only the city leaves us the city, which is why some rows are city names.

Before you book

The price on a card is the operator's figure for the whole aircraft. What that comes to per seat, across every type we see, is in how much an empty leg private jet costs.

One of the seven carried a published price: USD 5,000 on a six seat Premier 1A from Prestige Air Group on 22 September, the operator figure for the whole aircraft. The other six said price on request.

That USD 5,000 is unusual and worth knowing about. Prestige publishes USD 4,000 on 72 of the 74 listings we hold for it, and USD 5,000 on only two. This is one of the two, and its 2 hours 42 minutes is the longest block time the operator publishes anywhere in our record: its USD 4,000 listings run from 30 minutes to 2 hours 18 minutes. So on this corridor its flat rate finally moves, by USD 1,000.

It is also the only leg of the seven with a block time, a seat count or a tail number, N969RE. The six Thrive Aviation legs publish the operator, the type and the date and nothing else, which is why six rows below read Not stated in three columns. That is what the operator published, not a gap in our collection.

Ask the operator three things: whether the departure time can still move, what happens if the paid flight that created this empty leg falls through, and which Houston field the aircraft is leaving from, because only Hobby appears on this corridor in our record and the other seven Houston fields are a long way from it.
